For employers & benefits leaders
Better-informed employees. Cleaner claims. Lower spend.
Compass is the healthcare education and claims-review partner for employers whose teams don’t know how to use their benefits — and whose plans pay for billing errors no one’s catching.

What Compass delivers
Four ways we lower spend and raise satisfaction.
Education
Live courses, taught in cohorts
How insurance pays, how to read a bill, how to pick a plan. Small groups, live instructors, plain English.
Employee bill review
One-on-one help with confusing bills
Employees submit a bill, we check it for errors, identify overcharges, and tell them what to do next.
Claims review & recovery
Find the overpayments hiding in your claims.
Send us your claims data and we’ll audit it line by line — duplicate charges, upcoding, services billed but not delivered, contract violations. You get a documented report. Recovery support available as an add-on.
Open enrollment
Help employees pick the right plan
61% pick the wrong plan and pay $372 in premiums they didn't need. Our open enrollment course closes that gap.
How claims review works
Your plan is paying for errors no one’s auditing.
Share your claims data
Historical claims, ongoing claims, or a specific time window. We work with TPA exports.
We review every line
Duplicate charges, upcoding, unbundling, services billed but not delivered, contract-rate violations.
Documented findings + recovery
A clear report you can act on. Or add recovery support: we work with your TPA to claw back overpayments.
~$1 of every $14
spent on healthcare claims is improperly paid (industry estimate)
$0
recovered when no one is auditing your plan
Engagement models
Three engagement shapes. Pick the mix.

Pricing, billing ops, insurance, policy. Not a marketing team.
No carrier referral fees.
We don’t sell insurance and don’t have a reason to push any specific plan.

The cheapest healthcare cost-reduction strategy is the one nobody's selling.
The benefits industry has spent the last decade selling employers solutions that promise to lower healthcare costs: navigation apps, second-opinion services, virtual primary care, point solutions for every condition. Some of these work. Most of them work less than the marketing suggests. And all of them share a common assumption — that the way to fix healthcare spending is to add more technology between the employee and the system.
There's a much simpler intervention that nobody's making the centerpiece: teach people how the system works.
When employees understand their benefits, they make different decisions. They check whether a provider is in-network before booking — which most don't. They use urgent care or telehealth for the conditions that don't need an ER. They ask whether a procedure can be done at a lower-cost site. They review their bills before paying them. They pick the plan that actually fits their situation during open enrollment.
Only 35% of employees check whether a provider is in-network before getting care. 67%don't know they can compare costs of services or prescriptions before paying. These are the exact behaviors that drive avoidable spend — and they're the behaviors education actually changes. Of the 27 million annual ER visits, an estimated 18 million are avoidable, and treating those conditions in primary care or urgent care costs roughly a tenth as much.
None of this requires a new app, a new vendor relationship, or a new layer between your employees and their care. It requires teaching. Which is what we do.
FAQ
Common questions.
How is this different from the navigation app or advocacy service we already offer?
Navigation apps route employees to in-network providers and answer specific transactional questions. They're useful. What they don't do is teach. An employee who calls a navigation service every time they have a healthcare question hasn't learned anything — they've outsourced their thinking. Compass is the layer underneath: we teach your employees how the system works so they can make better decisions on their own. It's complementary, not competitive.
What does it cost?
It depends on workforce size, scope, and which mix of cohort seats, bill review access, and custom programming makes sense for your team. Some engagements start at a few thousand dollars annually; larger custom programs are more. The best way to get a real number is a 30-minute call.
How long does implementation take?
Cohort access can be live within a couple of weeks. Custom programs take longer to design but are typically running within a quarter. We're built to fit a January 1 plan year start if you're planning ahead for next year's renewal.
How does Compass handle employee data and privacy?
Bill review involves protected health information, and we take that seriously. Submissions are encrypted, access is limited to authorized personnel, and submission data is automatically deleted 180 days after review completion. Our full privacy policy is at getcompasshealth.com/privacy. We're happy to walk through specifics with your privacy or legal team.
Is Compass HIPAA-compliant?
Compass operates with HIPAA-aware data practices and is in active legal review to formalize HIPAA compliance and execute Business Associate Agreements with our subprocessors. We can speak to the specifics of where that work stands on a call. We won't oversell it.
Can we white-label or co-brand Compass for our employees?
Yes, for custom engagements. Cohort seats run under the Compass brand by default; private cohorts and custom programs can be co-branded.
Who teaches the courses?
Courses are taught by people with direct experience inside healthcare pricing, billing, insurance, and policy. We don't use AI-generated instruction, and we don't outsource teaching to a generalist content team.
